Karla Roberts grew up in the Pacific Northwest, slowly making her way east, with a stop in Chicago for graduate school, and several years in Brooklyn. She now lives and works in upstate New York.

My work has been informed by my experiences and reactions to life in the communities I have lived. Growing up in Washington State, working in Yellowstone during the summers, renting in a Ukrainian neighborhood in Chicago as a graduate student, living in Venice Italy, raising my family adjacent to the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, moving to upstate New York, and being a general squeaky wheel around concerning issues of the day.
